2011
Roofing Project

When: August 6, 2011
Location: Long Lake
Volunteers: 15 people, 96 hours
Description: Harold and Delores are seniors in our church and the city required them to have their roof replaced. They were unable to afford to have a contractor do the work, so Hammers of Hope took on the project. We removed the old shingles and installed new shingles.
Painting Project

When: Sept 30-Oct 1, 2011
Where: Plymouth
Volunteers: 40 people, 160 hours
Description: Charlene became a widow recently after losing her husband to cancer. She has been unable to take care of maintenance and repairs on her house and as a result the paint on her house was pealing and cracking. Hammers of Hope along with her neighbors and friends painted the siding and trim on her house as well as some other maintenance items. We paid for a painting contractor to perform the scraping and priming and our volunteers did the finishing work.
