Aug 1&2 Paint-A-Thon Project
On Friday and Saturday Aug 1 & 2 we painted Linda Norenberg's Robbinsdale home as part of the annual Metro Paint-A-Thon. The Metro Paint-A-Thon is a program of the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches. This is a simple way for us to make a big difference in the life of Linda and the community by putting a fresh coat of paint on her home.
Reason 5 of the top 5 reasons to participate in the Paint-A-Thon. Have fun helping others!
Until you experience the Paint-A-Thon, it’s hard to imagine the impact it has on the lives of our homeowners. The joy you bring them by simply caring enough to show up and help is overwhelming. They feel pride in their home, blessed by the kindness you've shown them, and they will talk about the time you spent with them for years to come.
Dates: Friday, Aug 1, 12:00 to 4:00 pm
Saturday, Aug 2, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Volunteer Needs: We need 6 volunteers Friday afternoon to prep the house for painting on Saturday
We need 12 volunteers at both the morning and afternoon shifts and a volunteer to provide lunch
Location:2750 McNair Drive, Robbinsdale, MN
Hammers Lead: Rick Watkins

Hammers of Hope and Widow's Hope work together to help Natalie make here townhome a home
On May 11th you heard the story of Widow's Hope and the partnership that is forming with Hammers of Hope. Through this partnership, our next project will help a young widow in our Plymouth community. Here is her story:
Natalie lost her husband, tragically, in a car accident about 5 years ago. The roads were icy and her husband never came home. There was no life insurance....it expired days before the accident. Natalie not only lost her husband, within a few months, she lost her home and her perfect credit spiraled downward.
Through the help of many, Natalie has worked her way back onto her feet; finding a job and restoring her credit. She has been supported by Widow's Hope and now is moving out of an apartment and into her own townhome and a new beginning. She needs our help to make her townhome into her new home. We will be helping Natalie with painting, replacing light and fan fixtures, removing carpet, moving some cabinets, and other miscellaneous repairs to her townhome.
Date: Saturday, June 21st from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Volunteer Needs: 8-16 volunteers with indoor painting experience, also need a person with electrical skills to replace lights and ceiling fans
Location: 15720-A 25th Place North, Plymouth, MN 55447
Hammers Lead: Devon Eklund
